British Columbia

I have been off line a few days as we have been in the remote areas of British Columbia where internet and cell phones are pretty much off line. However that did not keep us from moving around. We spent 1 day in Whitehorse where Jan and I got haircuts and there was alot of rain our last trip for Wal-mart for awhile. From there to Teslin that's when Boo started getting sick and no veterinarian's near by we thought she was going to be ok so we moved on to Watson Lake at this time we decided to head over to Hyder,Alaska and maybe catch up with a vet. Next stop Iskut no vet here either but Boo is doing better. On to Hyder to see the bears as they fish for salmon we are staying at a nice RV Park about 6 miles from where the bears are to be found.  But there's not any there the first night but we did stop and eat at The Glacier Restaurant Historical site we had a good time. 2nd day we went to check on the bears, but nope not there yet to we fueled our trucks and went back to rigs to get ready to leave in the morning. Later Jan called us over she had bought cake to celebrate my birthday what what a sweet deal. I had a great birthday. Thank you Jan & Bill last but not least thank you Harry I love the jewelry. Today we are in Village of Telkwa and the weather is great here.we have found a vet for Boo she is not 100% yet she just keeps lagging so now we have appointment in the morning 8:00am and I will update you on Boo tomorrow. And now some pics for you to enjoy.

Lots of rain and Road Construction

When we started the day we were going to Construction Bay however we ended up in Whitehorse, Alaska which is ok. I believe it rained all day so it was a gloomy day and road construction you know that makes for a   a long day on the road.  I sat in the truck and took pictures as we went down the road we seen a bull moose and a bear not to mention a sea gull on a dock. So we will put some up for you to see. We are staying at Pioneer-RV Park in Whitehorse and I believe we will be here a couple of days there's a couple museum we missed the 1st time around and Jan and I am ready for fresh haircuts. More tomorrow.

Back to Beaver Creek RV

Not much happening we left Tok, Ak this morning about 9:00 am and stopped for the night at Beaver Creek RV Park in the Yukon Territory. We only seen 2 animals today a young black lab and this big old black bird. When were all set up no TV so we sat around and played rummikub a little later Harry grilled steaks and Jan pulled out some baked beans and I made Macaroni and cheese and we had a great lunch. Oops Harry decided to bake some cookies in the Green Mountain Grill and they came out very good. Harry is now busy making a walking stick for himself and next thing we know a black lab dog wonder in our camp so we fed it, Boo seem to want it to go away or maybe she really wanted it to play with her I don't know for sure. Jan thought she would do a little cleaning on her rig she really go into there for a bit. More tomorrow.

some of the roads are pretty bad.

2nd time around for Fast Eddies

When we started out this morning we were going to Delta Junction, Ak. When we arrived RV park was closed so we continued on.  Bill & Jan and Harry and I got our pictures taken at mile marker where the Alaska Highway ended and of course we checked in at the Visitor Center in Delta Junction. Then on to Tok, Alaska for a RV park and  Fast Eddies restaurant they are famous for there fried mushrooms. When we left Fairbanks I said aloud ( goodby city life) because now we will be in the more remote Alaska as we are headed to Canada.
And of corse no animals today!!

Day OF Rest

Today was a day of rest and taking it easy and start preparing to leave Fairbanks, AK.  We are heading to Delta Junction shopping will be scarce so we did last min shopping and stocking up also did a few repairs. Prepared a few meals ahead of time and I believe we are ready. Kind of excited to head back to Canada we believed we seen more wildlife there than in Alaska.

Fairbanks/north pole

We visited to North Pole today and I was disappointed a gift shop and a few candy canes. I will say they had an awesome Santa Clause and that was it. So then we started seeking lunch and that turned out to be ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery and I decided on starbucks coffee and lunch a little later as we were not quite ready for lunch. So now we were headed to the Gold Dredge 8 and this was a great time we were also informed about the Alaska Pipe Line and then took a train ride to see the number 8 dredge and do some gold panning for ourselves and that proved to be rewarding we found $23.00 worth of gold between Harry and me. Now Jan & Bill came up with around $45.00 dollars worth  and Jan quickly made a pair earings out of her's very nice I might add. Today was the warmest day yet for us I believe it got to 82 degrees today very warm. We still needed to stop at RV parts store so a couple more stops and were at back to rigs, oops were are not done yet we need to catch up laundry so pull laundry together and about 1 1/2 hours later we are done for the day. Whew what a day.
